Milk and Coconut Bars (Tabletas De Leche y Coco)

A popular snack food from Honduras, these coconut bars are easy to make and even easier to enjoy!

Please your sweet tooth with these milk and coconut bars, or tabletas de coco. These bars are a traditional sweet treat enjoyed by young and old alike! In the northern coast of Honduras, tabletas de coco are traditionally made and sold by the Garifunas—the Afro-Indigenous community.  They only require a few ingredients and are easy to make. In this recipe I swapped some of the brown sugar cane for condensed milk, but this is totally optional.

Enjoy!
